Today we are going over what to look for when buying a radiator for your home.
Choosing a radiator can seem a daunting task but it really doesn’t have to be, Below we have broken down the steps of ordering a radiator that is suitable for you and your home.
British Thermal Units is the measurement that radiators are measured in. We can work out exactly how many btu’s are needed for a room using our simple BTU Heating calculator.
Once you have your BTU figures write them down so they are easier to work from.
This is an important step because it will define whether you can fit a Horizontal Radiator or vertical Radiator.
So measure the wall space you have to fit a radiator, minus 100mm from that number to leave room for your radiator valves either size and the number you are left with is the maximum width you have to install a radiator.
Width of wall space – 100mm = Maximum radiator size.
Once you have your BTU figures and know the orientation and size of the radiator, decide which colour will suit your room set best.
The standard colours to choose from are:
- White
- Black
- Anthracite
- Chrome
We have chosen these colours because they will fit in almost any room set.
Step 4. Look through the options you have.
There are lots of options and below we have created a link table to help you find the radiator that suits your needs.
