Do you know your sizes?
When it comes to replacing your Radiators or Heated Towel Rails, knowing the dimensions needed is half the battle. It is important to remember that most radiators will have side entry points, and therefore you must remember to leave some wiggle room on either side to accommodate for the valves when measuring up your space. It is recommended that you choose a radiator size that is as close to your calculated BTU requirement as possible, meaning you will be getting the correct amount of heat for the room the radiator is installed in. Electric or Plumbed In?
Most houses use a Central Heating system to heat up the space during the colder months, however the electric option is no less efficient when it comes to warming up your room. If you are thinking of adding to the amount of radiators already in your home, it is easier to stick to the system that is already implemented. For example, if you have central heating, your plumber can plumb another in fairly easily.
On the other hand, an electric radiator can be easier to install in a location where your central heating pipes do not reach. This can be a good solution for smaller or more awkward spaces such as loft conversions and conservatories. Some Radiators can be simply plugged in to socket, where others must be Hard-wired in to the wall. Electric Radiators can also be controlled by wall controllers, giving you options such as full control over on/off periods and thermostatic temperature control. Which Material To Choose?
Radiators are now made from many different types of material. Most are made of Mild Steel, a robust but malleable material that allows some really impressive designs to be achieved, whilst keeping their shape and durability.

What about Valves?
You will need a pair of Valves for every plumbed in Radiator or Towel Rail. We recommend choosing Thermostatic Valves (also known as TRV) as these give you true control of your heat. The numbered or notched dial will allow you to choose the level of heat the Radiator or Towel Rail is outputting.
Valves now come in a large range of choices when it comes to style. There are modern variants that work well with newer, more modern radiator designs or traditional styles that look great with older looking finishes.
